I am a freelance translator from Chinese, French and Spanish into English.
I specialise in legal and financial documents.
I teach Translation and Interpreting at Heriot-Watt University.
I have worked in the translation industry since 2011.
I have a BA (Hons) in Chinese and Spanish from Leeds University (1996), an MA in Language Documentation from SOAS (2008) and an MSc in Chinese and French Translating and Interpreting from Heriot-Watt University (2018).
I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists and the Proz network, and an associate member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting.
I am committed to the highest standards of quality and confidentiality, following the CIOL code of professional ethics.
I discovered my flair for translating legal and financial documents during my 8 years as a translator at Alpha CRC and also while working for freelance clients.
I have translated calls for tender, contracts, audit documents, case law documents, chapters of a legal text book, business case studies, retail banking information and financial regulations.
I always translate into my mother tongue (English), from Chinese, French and Spanish.
This table gives a list of some of the clients I have worked for, via Alpha CRC and other agencies.
